About Legacy Photography was a dream I had for many years and I have now made it through the rough start-up period to become a respected and viable studio offering a full range of photographic services. Thanks must go out here to my small but loyal client base who have helped get this business started and recommended me to enough of their friends to make this a growing and highly regarded project.

My name is Harry Hamilton and for many years I was a professional therapist who also had a great passion for taking pictures of family and friends. When I had the chance to begin working full-time for a highly regarded Richmond studio, I made the choice to change my career. Follow your dreams, never look back, life as a journey; all these cliches would appear to apply and I am grateful for the opportunity.

I have now had the experience of working for several Richmond based studios and when my work became the display material they showed to their prospective clients, I knew it was time to work for myself. My background in human personality, and specialty in the area of child and family therapy, obviously influences my work as I attempt to capture not just images that are pleasing to the eye but also provide insight into the person being photographed. Classic portraits capture a moment in time, a passage of time in the life of the subject. The image evokes a moment of self-recognition in the mind's eye, and in doing so, we become more fully connected to ourselves and one another.
